The purpose of this project is to disseminate information about programs and services for seniors that benefit San Mateo residents to a larger audience.

This is done by preparing short newsletter inserts featuring a particular program or service and distributing these “Age Friendly News” to organizations in San Mateo that publish newsletters for their members or communities.

We have (1) assembled a list of more than 60 organizations that publish newsletters, including faith-based, neighborhood and civic organizations; (2) to date identified and researched 30 topics of interest; (3) prepared a short bulletin and sent it to the mailing list and published it elsewhere.

The City publishes the news bulletins in its newsletters to seniors.

We also have prepared two Age Friendly brochures that summarize some of this information. Soon, we will be able to provide these in other languages.
