This program will provide information about businesses that are particularly suitable for older adults due to their physical environment, positive personnel interactions and training to assure a high level of respectful engagement and service.
The Task Force designed and conducted a survey of local seniors to learn what they value most in interacting with local businesses.
More than 150 seniors responded.
The responses show that the quality of their interactions with business employees on the phone and in person is a major factor in their decisions of which businesses to patronize.
The City has taken over this program and is planning to finance and execute it in cooperation with the Age Friendly Coalition. An initial presentation of the checklist to be used was presented to the Senior Citizen Commission on May 13.
